Recently while we have been in lockdown we had to write a recipe that we are going to make. I choose Chelsea's Lockdown Loaf.
Here is the Recipe:
Chelsea's Lockdown Loaf
Ingredients:
3 cups plain flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
2 tsp white sugar
1 tsp salt
375mls beer
Toppings:
Finely chopped onion
Grated cheese
Sprinkle paprika
Salt and pepper
Olive oil
Equipment:
Oven
Loaf tin
Baking powder
Large mixing bowl
Spatula
Method:
Preheat oven to 180℃ regular bake and line a small/medium loaf tin with baking paper.
Add the flour, baking powder, sugar and salt to a large mixing bowl. Stir to combine.
Pour in the beer and stir again to combine into a stick dough. Scrape into the prepared tin with a spatula and smooth it out.
Sprinkle with the toppings and drizzle with the olive oil.
Bake in the oven for 40 minutes or until golden brown and looking delicious.
Enjoy!
Hi Hayley! Your recipe sounds tasty. I googled why some recipes use beer and it said that beer makes the flavour taste rich/earthy/nutty. Have you tried to make it yet? If you do, I'd love to see a picture! Great work.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jocelyn! That's interesting. Yes we made this recipe last lockdown, but we have to make it again becuase it's soooo yum! I will send you a photo when we make it again :-)
