Taupo Bay Senior Camp 2020

We have just been at camp. This year we stayed at at Taupo Bay Campground. We were there for 2 nights & 3 days. Our choice was to bring our own tent and sleep with friends, sleep in a cabin with friends or sleep with your siblings. We were in our house groups - Kiwi, Tui, Kereru and Ruru. I am in Kiwi.

We were supposed to go to camp on Wednesday morning, but insead of the weather playing ball it decided to pour down with rain! So we ended up going to camp in the afternoon. Once we got to camp we set up our tents ready for the tent inspection and night time. A tent inspection is when a teacher comes around to your tent or cabin and checks to make sure it is tidy, if your tent is tidy you get your house some house points. If you tent or cabin isn't tidy you don't get as many points. After that we went to the beach for a swim and beach activites, we then went back to camp had showers, and dinner, then dessert, after dessery when then played spotlight and had some Milo for supper. We then had to brush our teeth and go to bed!

On Thusday we got ready for the day and had some breakfast and then had a meeting and got told what we needed to get for the day, and what we were going to do. We met with the jouniors at the beach and did some fun, easy activites with them. The seniors then went back to camp and had lunch. We then got ready for the bus to come and pick us up to go and do the shallow lane cove swimming hole. We then came back and done exactly the same thing as the night before.

On Friday we got ready for the day and had some breakfast and then has another meeting and we were told to go and pack up all of our stuff so that the adults could pack the tents down for us. Next we went down to the beach for kayaking, beach activites and surfing lessons. We then stopped and had lunch as a group and then went back to camp and then we cought the bus back to school. 

Camp was very tiring and exciting! And in the end it turned out to be perfect weather!

Pet Day Art

 In Term 3 we had our annual School Pet Day. Everyone participates in the indoor section, which is Art work and some other things that we make on the day, in the morning. The indoor section gets judged, this year we made our Art work anonoymous. I didn't get a place, I don't care though because it's about having fun! I also brang a lamb for the outdoor Pet competition, I'm not sure where I came overall though☺️

 Recently we have been creating Google Drawing showing how we can find percentages of number. Our learning intention was to: Find Percentages of Numbers. It was really easy for me, beacuase I knew some knowledge on percentages.

Whaea Kaiya's Kitchen

 Recently we have been designing a Kitchen for our deputy principal, Whaea Kaiya. Our learning intention was to: Find the Area and Perimeter. I found it difficult at first but I soon got used to it. In the end Whaea Kaiya got a little bit of everyones design to make into a kitchen for her.

Ladybug Research Project

 Recently we have been making Research Projects about different things. We made the Projects on Google Slides, they have taken Me and My Class about 2 Weeks to Create. I done my Research Project on Ladybugs, over the 2 Weeks I have learnt so many Interesting and Fun Facts about Ladybugs. I found the Research Project challenging at times buut I got through it and overall it was really Fun!
